Technology Predictions That Will Change the World

Benefits of Future Technology

Technology tries to present solutions to meet the needs of everyday human life. It's no wonder that technology continues to grow. Meanwhile, the benefits of future technology for humans are as follows:

Streamlining Communication

Before there were communication technologies such as social media, video calls, and others, communication was limited to sending letters or meeting in person. Now, the field of communication can be facilitated by various innovations that shorten time and distance.

In the future, the concept of future technological innovations such as the metaverse is expected to provide more convenience for conveying information on a larger scale as well.

Expanding the Potential of Creative Industries

With more digital platforms, there are also more opportunities for the creative industry to move forward. Sophisticated devices are increasingly being improved and can make it easier to create creative content such as videos to digital art.

Not only from the production side but the work of the nation's children can also be increasingly competitive on the international stage with technological advances.

Simplify Transactions

Buying and selling activities can now be done via the internet. In ancient times, you needed to go out of the house and pay for groceries with cash.

With the existence of a digital banking platform for e-commerce, buying and selling transactions can be done from anywhere and at any time. In the future, new innovations can certainly further facilitate even small to large-scale business transactions.

8 Various Predictions of Future Technology

The World Economic Forum (WEF) was formed in 2000 to bring design, technology developers, and innovation companies together to make real contributions to business and society.

In 2020, WEF held a virtual Pioneers of Change Summit. At this meeting, the WEF discussed predictions of technological developments in the next 5 years, namely in 2025. The following is the discussion:

1.Artificial Intelligence in the Manufacturing Industry

Jobs in the manufacturing industry usually involve tracing and recording work traditionally using paper. Manufacturing a product involves many machines and goes through various steps that cannot be recorded one by one in detail. This process makes performance less transparent and can be costly in terms of energy, materials, and time.

Triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, companies need to rapidly adopt future cloud-based technologies. This technology can help collect data, change it intelligently according to needs, and present it neatly. With cloud-based data, work can still be carried out and monitored, even in a pandemic situation.

Anna Katrina Shedletsky as CEO of Instrumental; a manufacturing data company, predicts that a wealth of data equipped with intelligent algorithms can optimize manufacturing processes in 2025.

With artificial intelligence (AI), product quality has also improved along with reduced waste usage. Production is faster, the environment is better maintained, and businesses benefit from lower production costs.

2.Energy Transformation

Since the pandemic, people have become increasingly aware of the importance of health and the future of life. The public is increasingly paying attention to government policies in tackling carbon footprints in the world. Countries, companies, and individuals are racing to eliminate carbon footprints.

Sustainable carbon footprint reduction can be built through significant long-term energy transformation. Steve Oldham from Carbon Engineering predicts the emergence of a variety of new future technologies designed to reduce and eliminate global emissions. A carbon management system is also needed to capture and remove carbon dioxide on a regular basis.

3.5G Connection to Drive Economy

The founder and CEO of wireless technology company Metawave, Maha Achour, shares his opinion on how 5G connections can improve the global economy. Although we are now familiar with Wi-Fi innovation, these connections cannot meet the demand for higher capacities.

The business industry itself is now supported by various technologies such as video conferencing, metaverse, and other digital platforms.

Therefore, 5G networks can overcome network constraints and enable high-capacity services such as telehealth, telesurgery, and others. Businesses can improve with the concept of smart factory innovation, real-time monitoring, and compute-intensive services.

The presence of 5G brings more good impacts on the economy which can create developing markets with prosperous goals.

4.Retail Robot Technology

As we know, robots have changed many industries, including the fast-moving consumer goods (FMGC) sector, to keep products hygienic and clean. With increasingly sophisticated robot innovations, the productivity level of the food industry is certain to be higher.

The intelligence of this robotic technology opens a better future for the retail industry by bringing speed, product availability, and lower costs.

5.Security Enhancements

Rapidly developing technology trends must be balanced with increasingly stringent privacy policies. Ellison Anne Williams, the founder, and CEO of the data security company Enveil believes that in the next five years, data privacy and security will be seen as a commodity.

Along with increasing public awareness of the importance of privacy, the ability to maintain the privacy or privacy-enhancing technologies (PET) has also increased. As the name suggests, this privacy enhancement technology is designed to secure private information.

It is certain that the personal data of internet users is guaranteed confidentiality so that it is not misused by online service providers, merchants, or other users.

For example, personal identification such as KTP numbers, email addresses, and IP addresses cannot be known by online motorcycle taxi drivers when you order food delivery services. Service providers only get information on names, delivery points, and telephone numbers.

It is estimated that by 2025, PET will become a basic element of corporate privacy and security strategies. Going forward, a data-centric security approach could provide flexibility according to regional regulatory requirements and consumer expectations.

6.Health Technology with a Preventive Approach

Jim Flatt as CEO of an Artificial Intelligence-based biotechnology company, Brightseed, predicts a shift in the health paradigm. This shift has led the healthcare industry to a more preventative concept of dieting. This has a good impact on efforts to reduce the risk of disease and the use of unexpected costs due to illness.

This shift will invite people to change their lifestyle and diet to become more nutrient-dense. This concept will be supported by AI-based technology trends to increase public knowledge of the important role of certain foods for the body. The pandemic has become one of the factors in increasing public awareness of this matter because health conditions are getting more and more attention.

With a better understanding of nutritional needs, the food industry can certainly respond to this by offering a wider selection of products to answer public needs. Not only offering painkillers, but the health care industry can also promote supplement and vitamin products, right!

7.Metaverse

Reporting from Detikinet, Budiono as Managing Director of Applied Intelligence Lead for Indonesia said that Metaverse and Web3 will continue to develop in the future. Metaverse and Web3 will reshape the internet.

Not only is it a digital platform where various sites and applications gather, but Metaverse can also be a 3D environment that allows users to walk from one place to another virtually.

If you are not familiar with the term Metaverse, in short, the meaning of the metaverse is an artificial virtual space where you can explore the digital world with other internet users. You don't need to move places to have business meetings or play games together.

Meanwhile, Web3 is the third generation of the internet that carries the concept of an internet ecosystem that is more open, operates autonomously, and is managed in a decentralized manner which makes it more flexible.

8.Self-driving Car

In the transportation industry itself, the trend of car technology with self-driving features is expected to continue to grow to answer the needs of many people. With computer sophistication and artificial intelligence, cars with this feature can reduce the risk of road accidents.

future transportation technology

Not only that, a report from Stanford University explains that self-driving cars can change the lifestyle of people in cities. This innovation can bring back time that was wasted when stuck in traffic so that people can do more productive things.

The development of this transportation technology offers much sought-after comfort and makes human life more effective.

5 Benefits of an All-in-One Cybersecurity Platform for Business

November 30, 2022 0
According to the annual report from CheckPoint , by mid-2022 the threat of cybercrime increased by 32% compared to 2021. More than a thousand attacks occur every week and most of them strike the Education/Research, Government/Military, Healthcare, Finance/Banking, Utilities, and Manufacturing. In a CheckPoint report, every week 1 in 40 organizations are affected by ransomware - a 59% increase compared to 2021 when only 1 in 62 organizations.

Cyberattacks are growing and getting more sophisticated that every organization needs to protect itself. However, if the organization uses outdated and too many technologies (the so-called frankencloud model) it will present its own challenges.

Cybersecurity

The Frankencloud model and its risks

The term "Frankencloud" is taken from the Frankenstein story because of the similar assembly method. Cybersecurity teams are forced to use and rely on dozens of disconnected cybersecurity vendors. According to Techcrunch , the average uses 25-49 pieces of software from 10 different vendors. This creates a blind spot in the security system because there is no comprehensive view of the threats that will be received.

Currently, many companies are switching from traditional methods to store data in the cloud . As a result, companies are adopting more and more software to protect their cloud and other digital assets. This has created many gaps in the security structure and can increase spending on extra protection.

Cloud computing has brought many benefits and innovations, but the attacks on SolarWinds in 2020 have taught us that dependence on different technological tools can be a weak point in an enterprise.

SolarWinds is a large company from Oklahoma that provides applications for computer networks to connect to each other. The SolarWinds tool is widely used by network administrators to manage networks on a regular basis. SolarWinds can monitor, serve, store data, and control all activities across a computer network. One of their products, Orion, has access to various IT systems.

More than 30,000 public and private organizations, including local, state/federal agencies use the Orion network. At the time of the attack on SolarWinds, these hackers managed to access the data and network of this Orion customer. The attack on SolarWinds is billed as the largest of the 21st century because it leverages a vast and intermingled supply chain of technologies

All-in-One Cybersecurity Platform Benefits

The cybersecurity platform is designed to allow any organization to integrate security visibility, analysis and control across its multiple security layers. The platform aims to simplify and automate workflows across endpoints, cloud, network, and applications. Therefore, a complete cybersecurity platform is designed to bring together disparate security tools without sacrificing performance, protection, scalability, and innovation.

There are at least 5 benefits of an all-in-one platform, namely:

1. Ensuring integrated security controls across the organization

The decentralized approach to security infrastructure results in a lack of visibility because there are multiple vendors. However, having an all-in-one platform will reduce the complexity and complexity of cybersecurity protection.

Studies from IBM show the number of security tools organizations use have a negative impact on their organizations. Organizations using more than 50 security software will rank themselves 8% lower in ability to detect cyberthreats and 7% lower in ability to respond to attacks than those using fewer tools.

2. Provide seamless interaction between various solutions

Using a single platform makes it possible for your company to deploy security tools run by a single vendor. This will help the cybersecurity team to monitor the company's overall data. No more dealing with unrelated cybersecurity tools, no more redundancies, missed alerts and other complexities as it all runs through a single platform.

3. Save costs and time

Using a single platform eliminates the huge costs of using multiple cybersecurity tools and other unnecessary operational costs. In addition, it can help optimize operational efficiency and speed up response to security changes or in the event of an attack.

4. Always updated cyber security technology

With an all-in-one platform, users can easily get the latest cybersecurity updates and patch management to apply with them to ensure you receive the latest version of the software. No more software that is not updated.

5. Provides a faster threat response

Increasing adoption of digital platforms and cloud computing has developed cyber attacks. Therefore, businesses need a complete and simplified cybersecurity solution that protects their organization's vulnerable assets and data from sophisticated cyberthreats. All in one service platform will help consolidate protection, reporting, monitoring, detection and termination of violations more quickly.
